A rapid test strip for copper ions was prepared based on CdS quantum dots synthesized by a green method. In addition to Cu2+, fluorescence quenching phenomenon was also found in Ag+ solution. The study showed that the rapid test strip greatly improved the efficiency of metal ion detection, and the reaction mechanism was deeply investigated.
Copper ion rapid test strip is prepared based on the CdS quantum dots, which are synthetized by a green preparation method. And a linear equation of the fluorescence value change as function of copper ion concentration is fitted. Several metal ions are subjected to the fluorescence property tests with CdS quantum dots, in addition to Cu2+, fluorescence quenching phenomenon is also found in Ag+ added solution. The rapid test paper greatly improves the efficiency of metal ion detection. And the reaction mechanism is deeply investigated based on the systemic characterizations. The generated CuS dense layer hinders the photons absorption and utilization of CdS quantum dots, which ultimately leads to the fluorescence quenching. (C) 2020 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
