iTRAQ and PRM-based comparative proteomic profiling in gills of white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei under copper stress

Hui Guo et al.

Summary: This study elucidated the proteomic responses of white shrimp under copper stress, revealing disruptions in ion homeostasis and protein synthesis. It was found that the shrimp mainly regulates a series of molecular pathways involved in immune processes to protect the organism from copper stress. These findings provide insight into the underlying mechanisms related to the stress response of copper exposure in crustaceans.
