Summary: This study investigated the prevalence and molecular characteristics of Acinetobacter baumannii isolates in a pediatric hospital in Shanghai, China. The majority of isolates were carbapenem-resistant A. baumannii (CRAB) with ST208 being the predominant clone. Notably, a nosocomial outbreak of multidrug-resistant (MDR) A. baumannii ST208 producing OXA-23-like carbapenemase highlights the necessity for strict infection control interventions in the ICU.
