Summary: The building sector consumes about half of global energy, with over 55% used for air conditioning. Traditional refrigerant-based chillers are energy-intensive and have negative impacts on ozone layer and global warming. An innovative indirect evaporative cooling cycle without hydrophilic surfaces has been proposed to improve cooling efficiency and heat transfer performance.
