Assessment and prediction of environmental sustainability: novel grey models comparative analysis of China vs. the USA

Muhammad Ikram et al.

Summary: Emission forecasting is crucial for policy-making and reduction goals globally. This study developed accurate models for CO2 emissions and renewable electricity production in the USA and China. The findings suggest that China's renewable electricity production will surpass the USA by 2026, with CO2 emissions decreasing more significantly in the USA compared to China.

Growing green? Sectoral-based prediction of GHG emission in Pakistan: a novel NDGM and doubling time model approach

Erum Rehman et al.

Summary: The study estimates and forecasts greenhouse gas emissions in Pakistan from major sectors, revealing that industry and land-use change and forestry contribute more to increasing emissions, while agriculture and waste take less time to double their emissions. All sectors in Pakistan show an increasing trend in forecasting greenhouse gas emissions between 1990 and 2016.
