Bile Acid Synthesis Disorders in Japan: Long-Term Outcome and Chenodeoxycholic Acid Treatment

Akihiko Kimura et al.

Summary: This study followed 7 Japanese patients with bile acid synthesis disorders (BASD) over a 21-year period, finding that chenodeoxycholic acid (CDCA) treatment is effective for 3 beta-HSD deficiency and 5 beta-reductase deficiency, leading to good prognosis through early diagnosis and long-term treatment.
