The lack of safety data on pregnant women makes it difficult to choose the correct biologic agent for treating psoriasis in women of childbearing potential. Studies have suggested a potential role of IL-23 in unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortions, leading to considerations about using anti-IL-23 drugs in the treatment of psoriasis in women of childbearing potential.
