Study on self-healing and corrosion resistance behaviors of functionalized carbon dot-intercalated graphene-based waterborne epoxy coating

Yuwei Ye et al.

Summary: Functionalized carbon dots were used to modify graphene and prepare CDs modified graphene/epoxy coatings with excellent self-healing and corrosion resistance properties. The highly dispersed graphene in the coating acted as a physical barrier to protect the steel, contributing to its superior protective performance.

Step-scheme WO3/CdIn2S4 hybrid system with high visible light activity for tetracycline hydrochloride photodegradation

Chen-Yang Pei et al.

Summary: The research successfully prepared visible-light-driven WO3/CdIn2S4 hybrid photocatalysts with excellent performance in degrading antibiotic contaminants, with the 70 wt% WO3/CdIn2S4 hybrid photocatalyst showing the best photodegradation activity. This enhancement is attributed to effective charge separation within the hybrid photocatalysts.

Fabrication of direct Z-scheme FeIn2S4/Bi2WO6 hierarchical heterostructures with enhanced photocatalytic activity for tetracycline hydrochloride photodagradation

Xiao-Ya Shangguan et al.

Summary: A series of direct Z-scheme FeIn2S4/Bi2WO6 hierarchical heterostructures were synthesized and showed enhanced photocatalytic activity for TCH degradation. The optimal component ratio of FeIn2S4 to Bi2WO6 was determined to be 10 wt% for the highest degradation activity. Efficient separation of photogenerated holes and electrons based on the construction of direct Z-scheme system contributed to the enhanced photocatalytic activity.

Reuse of Predesigned Dual-Functional Metal Organic Frameworks (DF-MOFs) after Heavy Metal Removal

Leili Esrafili et al.

Summary: The systematic design of dual-functionalized metal organic frameworks for the removal of heavy metal ions from wastewater is crucial in environmental science. The creation of strong host-guest interactions between cations and donor sites significantly enhances heavy metals uptake. The engineered pore surface of MOFs provides a potential for multifunctional nanoparticles design to meet specific application requirements.

Fe3O4 nanoparticles three-dimensional electro-peroxydisulfate for improving tetracycline degradation

Shoufeng Tang et al.

Summary: Fe3O4 nanoparticles were used as a three-dimensional electrode in an electro-oxidation system with peroxydisulfate to enhance tetracycline degradation. Through characterization and contrast experiments, EOFe3O4 -PDS showed excellent TC degradation capability and stability. The enhancement of PDS decomposition and H2O2 production, as well as the involvement of sulfate and hydroxyl radicals in antibiotic degradation, were demonstrated.

Nano-Hydroxyapatite Encapsulated inside an Anion Exchanger for Efficient Defluoridation of Neutral and Weakly Alkaline Water

Hui Qiu et al.

Summary: Efficient removal of fluoride from weakly alkaline groundwater remains a challenge, but in this study, in situ precipitation of nanosized hydroxyapatite inside a polystyrene anion exchanger D201 showed promising results. The novel HAP@D201 material exhibited high defluoridation efficiency over a wide pH range, with pH-insensitive performance attributed to lattice replacement between hydroxide ions and fluoride. The exhausted HAP@D201 could be easily regenerated and maintained constant defluoridation efficiency through multiple cycles, making it a sustainable and effective defluorination solution.
