Hydrolysis of NH3BH3 and NaBH4 by graphene quantum dots-transition metal nanoparticles for highly effective hydrogen evolution

Jialu Shen et al.

Summary: Recently, graphene quantum dots-transition metal nanoparticles (GQDs-TMNPs) have been successfully applied in the hydrolysis of NH3BH3 (AB) and NaBH4, showing high dispersibility and activity. GQDs-RhNPs, GQDs-RuNPs, and GQDs-PtNPs demonstrate high catalytic activity in the hydrolysis of AB, with turnover frequencies (TOFs) reaching up to 656, 384, and 281 mol(H2)center dot mol(cat)(-1) min(-1), respectively.

Hydrolysis of B2pin2 over Pd/C Catalyst: High Efficiency, Mechanism, and in situ Tandem Reaction

Ning Li et al.

Summary: A facile and effective method for synthesizing H-2 or D-2 from Pd/C catalyzed hydrolysis of B(2)pin(2) has been developed. The kinetic isotope effects (KIEs) and tandem reaction confirmed that both hydrogen atoms in H-2 gas are provided by H2O. Also, the hydrolysis of B(2)pin(2) in D2O provides an easy synthesis of D-2.

Co-CeOx nanoparticles anchored on a nitrogen-doped carbon nanosheet: a synergistic effect for highly efficient hydrolysis of sodium borohydride

Longhua Yao et al.

Summary: In this study, Co-CeOx/NCNS catalyst with outstanding catalytic activity for the hydrolytic dehydrogenation of NaBH4 was successfully prepared, achieving a high hydrogen generation rate. The superior performance can be attributed to the synergistic effects of various factors, such as the special properties of nanoparticles, the influence of support surface area and defects, among others.
