A method for F-18-fluoroethylation without azeotmpic drying of cyclotron-produced [F-18]F- has been developed, enabling simplified automated radiosynthesis of [F-18]fluoroethylated tracers, [F-18]FEDAC and [F-18]FET, with radiochemical yields of 26 +/- 3.7% and 14 +/- 2.2% respectively.
Recently, a straightforward one-pot method for F-18-fluoroethylation without azeotmpic drying of cyclotron-produced [F-18]F- was developed. In this study, we have attempted to simplify the automated radiosynthesis of two [F-18]fluoroethylated tracers, [F-18]FEDAC and [F-18]FET, using a desmethyl labeling precursor and [F-18] fluomethyl tosylate, based on the above-mentioned method. The radiochemical yields of [F-18]FEDAC and [F-18] FET were 26 +/- 3.7% (n = 5) and 14 +/- 2.2% (n = 4), respectively, based on total [F-18]F- at the end of irradiation.
