Solvent-resistant microfluidic paper-based analytical device/spray mass spectrometry for quantitative analysis of C18-ceramide biomarker

Summary: The study presents a novel microfluidic paper-based analytical device coupled with paper spray mass spectrometry for efficient and low-cost quantitative determination of C-18-ceramide as a prognostic biomarker. The device demonstrated high resistance to organic solvents and efficiency in sample analysis, achieving good recovery values in human serum samples. The method simplifies the experimental steps and operation process, allowing for the identification of subnanomolar concentrations of C-18-ceramide.
