Residual sugarcane bagasse conversion in India: current status, technologies, and policies

Shireen Quereshi et al.

Summary: The growth of the Indian sugar industry is complemented by the generation of residual lignocellulosic sugarcane bagasse (RSB). However, there is a lack of consensus among the scientific community regarding the technical understanding and commercial applicability of RSB conversion technologies. This review explores the applications of RSB in various industries in India and discusses government policies, challenges, and opportunities associated with RSB utilization.
