Levosimendan Can Improve the Level of B-Type Natriuretic Peptide and the Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction of Patients with Advanced Heart Failure: A Meta-analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials

Summary: This meta-analysis suggests that intravenous levosimendan can significantly reduce BNP levels and increase LVEF in patients with advanced heart failure, with no significant impact on heart rate. The main source of heterogeneity was found to be the use of loaded or unloaded levosimendan.

The Effect of Sacubitril-Valsartan in Heart Failure Patients With Mid-Range and Preserved Ejection Fraction: A Meta-Analysis

Summary: This meta-analysis of six studies involving 5,503 patients found that sacubitril-valsartan significantly reduced HF hospitalization and improved New York Heart Association class in HFmEF and HFpEF patients compared to ACE inhibitors and ARBs. However, it did not significantly reduce cardiovascular mortality or all-cause mortality. Sacubitril-valsartan may increase the risk of hypotension, but it has a lower incidence of serum creatinine elevation compared to ACE inhibitors and ARBs.
