Quantum interference enhances rectification behavior of molecular devices

Anastazia Polakovsky et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that cross-conjugated molecules with electron-donating groups can serve as efficient rectifiers with high conductance. By introducing electron-donating groups into the molecules, higher rectification ratios can be achieved. Additionally, localization of the Highest Occupied Molecular Orbital (HOMO) and quantum interference effects can substantially enhance rectification.
