Meta-Analysis of the Prognostic and Clinical Value of Tumor-Associated Macrophages in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Jie Zhang et al.

Summary: Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) play a crucial role in the cancer microenvironment. This meta-analysis found that a high density of M2 TAMs is associated with poor prognosis in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), while CD68(+)M1 TAMs do not have prognostic effects on overall survival. CD206(+)M2 TAMs may serve as a prognostic biomarker for HCC, but further studies with larger sample sizes are needed to confirm these findings.

Clinical Significance of De Novo Malignancy After Liver Transplant: A Single-Center Study

Sara Kim et al.

Summary: This study investigated the clinical significance of de novo malignancy after liver transplant (LT) and found that de novo malignancy is a key factor affecting long-term survival after LT. In Korea, the most common cancers that develop after LT are gastric cancer and lymphoma. Regular screening and education are important for improving long-term survival and quality of life in these patients after LT.
