Summary: The conversion of CO2 into high value-added carbon-based compounds through photocatalytic reduction technology is considered a promising strategy to address the greenhouse effect. Construction of heterojunction photocatalysts can promote the separation of photoelectron-hole pairs, leading to higher activity in photocatalytic CO2 reduction.

CdS-Ag3PO4 nano-catalyst: A brief characterization and kinetic study towards methylene blue photodegradation

Summary: CdS and Ag3PO4 nanoparticles were synthesized using the sol-gel method and mechanically coupled to form a nano-catalyst. The coupled system of CdS and Ag3PO4 exhibited enhanced photocatalytic activity, potentially due to improved charge carrier separation. In the nano-catalyst with a CdS:Ag3PO4 mole ratio of 2, the lowest PL intensity and highest photodegradation activity were observed.
