Graphene oxide/silver nanostructure as a green anti-biofouling composite toward controlling the microbial corrosion

S. Taghavi Kalajahi et al.

Summary: Microbiologically influenced corrosion is a significant issue in the oil and gas industry, with biocides being the main solution. Nanomaterials, specifically graphene oxide/silver nanostructure, have shown promise in inhibiting sulfate reducing bacteria and reducing corrosion rates. The addition of nanostructures increased charge transfer resistance and prevented biofilm production, resulting in protective film formation.
