Detection of early cartilage degeneration in the tibiotalar joint using 3 T gagCEST imaging: a feasibility study

Daniel B. Abrar et al.

Summary: The optimized 3T gagCEST imaging protocol allowed for quantitative assessment of pre-morphological tibiotalar joint cartilage damage, showing significantly lower gagCEST effect sizes in patients compared to healthy volunteers, with excellent reproducibility.

Towards understanding mechanistic subgroups of osteoarthritis: 8-year cartilage thickness trajectory analysis

Claudia Iriondo et al.

Summary: This study characterizes the trajectory of cartilage thickness changes over 8 years in healthy individuals and discovers associations between the dynamics of cartilage changes and knee osteoarthritis (OA) incidence. Nonstable trajectories in cartilage thickness were found to have higher adjusted odds of OA incidence compared to stable trajectories.
