CsPbX3 (X=Br, I) perovskite solar cells have gained increasing attention due to their excellent stability, but challenges remain in improving power conversion efficiency and practical stability. Interface engineering, with strategies such as optimizing crystallinity and reducing contact resistance, has emerged as a promising method to address these issues. Further optimization and facing challenges are expected for the future development of these solar cells.
Nowadays, due to its excellent intrinsic stability against moisture, oxygen, thermal stressing and light soaking, CsPbX3. (X=Br, I) has drawn ever-increasing attention. However, it is still far from meeting the demand for practical application because of its relatively low power conversion efficiency (PCE) (originated from higher energy loss (E-loss)) and practical stability (degradation caused by charge transport layer and phase separation). According to the latest report, benefiting from its versatile performances such as crystallinity optimization, contact resistance decrease, trap passivation, fragile layer protection and energy level alignment, interface engineering has become one of the most promising methods to solve these problems. This paper aims to give a summary of typical progress about interface engineering on CsPbX3 (X.Br, I) perovskite solar cells (PSCs) from strategies, mechanisms and practical applications. At the end of this article we express the expectations for the challenges we will face and the possible directions for its further optimization.
