Anxiety and safety behavior usage during the COVID-19 pandemic: The prospective role of contamination fear

Summary: The study found that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused higher anxiety levels compared to seasonal flu, while contamination fear and obsessive-compulsive washing symptoms have also increased. Although contamination fear did not directly predict COVID-19 related anxiety, it significantly predicted the use of safety behaviors.
