A green method has been developed for the sulfination of allenic carbonyl compounds to access a wide variety of vinylic sulfones, which works in aqueous media under very mild conditions. The reaction is atom economic and can provide a moderate to excellent yield of diverse vinylic sulfones with wide functional group tolerance. The efficiency of this method has been demonstrated in reactions where the desired products can be isolated by filtration.
