Optimization and Effect of Reinforcements on the Sliding Wear Behavior of Self-Lubricating AZ91D-SiC-Gr Hybrid Composites

Summary: This study statistically investigated the effects of various parameters on the sliding wear rate of self-lubricating magnesium composites, revealing that reinforcement with SiC and graphite improves the wear resistance of the hybrid composites. The applied load was identified as the most critical factor influencing the wear rate, with the AZ91D/5SiC/5Gr hybrid composite exhibiting the best wear properties.
