A new Cd-MOF with 2D topology, [Cd(1,4-ndc)(DMA)] (1,4-H(2)ndc = 1,4-naphthalenedicarboxylic, DMA = N,N'Dimethylacetamide), was successfully fabricated under a solvothemal condition and further characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, infrared spectrometry (IR), powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Cd-MOF can serve as a luminescent sensor for the detection of nitro explosives and organophosphorus pesticides (OPs), with the limit of detection (LOD) of 0.1 mu M for nitrobenzene and 3 nM for parathion-methyl. Meanwhile, Cd-MOF can still keep stable after detecting nitro explosives and OPs for ten cycles. On the whole, Cd-MOF shows good stability, high selectivity and superior reproducibility as a multifunctional luminescent sensor.
