Antibacterial, Cytotoxicity and Larvicidal Activity of Green Synthesized Selenium Nanoparticles Using Penicillium corylophilum

Salem S. Salem et al.

Summary: Anopheles mosquitoes pose a serious threat to human life by transmitting malaria, and Selenium nanoparticles (Se-NPs) synthesized by Penicillium corylophilum have shown antibacterial properties against both Gram +Ve and Gram -Ve bacteria, as well as high toxicity towards cancer cells. Additionally, Se-NPs exhibit larvicidal activity against Anopheles mosquitoes.

An eco-friendly approach to textile and tannery wastewater treatment using maghemite nanoparticles (γ-Fe2O3-NPs) fabricated by Penicillium expansum strain (K-w)

Amr Fouda et al.

Summary: The study successfully synthesized effective biocatalysts for wastewater treatment using Penicillium expansum to biosynthesize gamma-Fe2O3-NPs, which proved to remove harmful substances from textile and tanning wastewater. The quality of the treated wastewater was significantly improved, with a reduction in organic compounds and heavy metal levels.
