Exploring relationships between family food behaviour and well-being in single-headed and dual-headed households with adolescent children

Berta Schnettler et al.

Summary: This study found that maternal presence during children's meals positively impacts the food-related life satisfaction, family life satisfaction, and overall life satisfaction of both mothers and children, regardless of family structure. Child involvement, however, has different effects on family life satisfaction in children of single mothers compared to children of married or cohabiting mothers. Both maternal and children's life satisfaction are closely linked to satisfaction with family life and food-related life in both family structures.
