Effects of gas preheat temperature on soot formation in co-flow methane and ethylene diffusion flames

Summary: The study found that the gas preheat temperature has a significant impact on the shape of C2H4 flames, but not on CH4 and nitrogen-diluted C2H4 flames. With an increase in gas preheat temperature, both soot formation and oxidation are enhanced for all flames, leading to increased soot loading.
