Summary: Cannabis, as a treatment option for chronic diseases, has immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties, but its interactions with immunosuppression and potential risks still need further research and clarification; there is little consensus among different institutions on cannabis use, and transplant centers will need to develop clear, reasoned, and systematic policies to address this issue as both recreational and medicinal cannabis become more widespread nationwide.
