The authors elegantly demonstrate that kindlin-3 recruitment to the membrane precedes integrin high-affinity activation and is dependent on the pleckstrin homology (PH) domain within kindlin-3.
In this issue of Blood, Wen et al investigate the leukocyte signaling pathway that leads to integrin activation required for leukocyte recruitment and an adequate immune response. The authors elegantly demonstrate that kindlin-3 recruitment to the membrane precedes integrin high-affinity activation and is dependent on the pleckstrin homology (PH) domain within kindlin-3.(1)
