Electronic, optical, and thermoelectric properties of perovskite variants A2BX6: Insight and design via first-principles calculations

Muhammad Faizan et al.

Summary: Lead halide perovskites are promising materials for solar cell applications, but their instability and toxicity present challenges. This study proposes using A(2)PdI(6) perovskites as potential alternatives to lead, showing that Rb2PdI6 has ideal bandgap and light absorption properties for tandem solar cells. Additionally, these perovskites have potential for thermoelectric energy applications with p-type doping.
