The pyrrole structure is crucial in many natural products, bioactive compounds, and organic materials, while silver catalysis has been widely used in organic synthesis with unique advantages for the facile and effective synthesis of pyrrole derivatives.
The pyrrole structure is a pivotal unit of many natural products, bioactive compounds, and organic materials. Pyrrole derivatives are commonly used as intermediates in the synthesis of various agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, dyes, and other synthetic organic compounds. In organic synthesis, silver catalysis has been of great interest and has spread widely due to unique reactivity, selectivity, stability, and recyclability in catalytic reactions. Over the past decade, numerous synthetic strategies have been established for the facile and effective synthesis of pyrrole derivatives through silver catalysis. This review focuses exclusively on the synthesis of pyrroles via silver catalysis, covering literature until the middle of 2020.
