Optimization of building fenestration and shading for climate-based daylight performance using the coupled genetic algorithm and simulated annealing optimization methods

Summary: This study focused on improving the reliability, consistency, and robustness of genetic algorithm for optimization in high-performance glazing and shading system design. Through analyzing the hybrid genetic algorithm/simulated annealing algorithm with different cooling strategies, it was found that the hybrid algorithm outperformed traditional genetic algorithm in terms of effectiveness.
