When the going gets tough: Emergence of a complex methane-driven interaction network during recovery from desiccation-rewetting

Thomas Kaupper et al.

Summary: This study reveals that short-term desiccation-rewetting affects methanotrophic activity, although the activity and community composition of methanotrophs recover after the disturbance. However, the interaction network structure undergoes significant changes during this process, which may have consequences for community functioning.
