Hot Temperature and High-Stakes Performance

R. Jisung Park

Summary: This study provides the first estimates of the impact of temperature on high-stakes exam performance and subsequent educational attainment. The findings show that hot temperature reduces performance and has persistent impacts on high school graduation status, despite compensatory responses by teachers.

Unequal social vulnerability to Hurricane Sandy flood exposure

Wil Lieberman-Cribbin et al.

Summary: This study found that after Hurricane Sandy, individuals with lower income and less education were more likely to experience flooding, while residents in higher income areas were less affected. disparities in exposure to flooding were also influenced by age, with older participants more likely to be impacted.
