Correlating Spatial Ability With Anatomy Assessment Performance: A Meta-Analysis

Victoria A. Roach et al.

Summary: Interest in spatial ability has increased due to its correlation with educational performance in STEM fields. A meta-analysis of 15 studies found a weak association between spatial ability and anatomy performance, with stronger correlations in practical tasks and drawing assessments. Males outperformed females in spatial ability tasks, suggesting a need for educators to consider curriculum modifications for individuals with lower spatial ability.
