Summary: In this study, a microwave-assisted quick-easy-cheap-effective-rugged-safe method based on deep eutectic solvent was combined with lighter than water organic solvent-based dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction for the extraction and preconcentration of benzoylurea insecticides from cabbage samples. The proposed method showed high enrichment factors, low limits of detection and quantification, good linearity, and satisfactory repeatability.

However, it was found that some samples exceeded the recommended limits for Cd2+ concentration by the World Health Organization.
