Isolation and identification of lactic acid bacteria from the intestinal tracts of honey bees, Apis mellifera L., in Egypt

Summary: This study identified and enumerated lactic acid bacteria (LAB) from honey bees, showing that these LABs have antibacterial activity against pathogenic strains. The findings suggest that honey bees could be a potential source of probiotic bacteria for use in food preservation.
