The role of technology readiness in individuals' intention to use health and fitness applications: a comparison between users and non-users

Summary: The study found that positive TR has a positive impact on PEOU, PU, and PEN, while negative TR only affects PEN negatively. Additionally, significant relationships between PEOU, PU, and PEN were identified. The study provides insights into the distinct roles of positive and negative TR in individuals' cognitive processes regarding the use of health and fitness apps, as well as differences in psychological processes between app users and non-users.

Consumers' continuance intention to use fitness and health apps: an integration of the expectation-confirmation model and investment model

Summary: The study revealed that users' continuance intention was significantly predicted by the expectation-confirmation model (ECM) and the investment model (IM). The positive relationships among variables were found within the ECM, and users' satisfaction and investment size had positive impacts on their commitment and intention. Confirmation of expectations also had a positive impact on investment size.

Understanding and Predicting the Adoption of Fitness Mobile Apps: Evidence from China

The main findings suggest that users' self-efficacy, perceived benefits, barriers, threats of weight loss, and risk perception significantly impact their intention to adopt and actual usage behavior. App developers should focus on providing sufficient introductory information to reduce users' risk perception and improve actual continuous use behavior.
