Evolutionary game of end-of-life vehicle recycling groups under government regulation

Summary: This paper studies the competition between illegal recycling groups and legitimate recycling groups in the end-of-life vehicle recycling market. By building an evolutionary game model, the authors investigate the long-term evolutionary characteristics of the two groups in different contexts. The study also examines how government policies affect the evolution of legal recyclers and the government's revenue. The research findings suggest that relying solely on penalty policies for illegal recycling is insufficient to improve the evolutionary stable state, and increasing subsidies and penalties for both legal and illegal recycling may decrease government revenue.
