Streptococcus pneumoniae is a major cause of community-acquired pneumonia, with serotype 3 being the most predominant. A significant proportion of isolates show resistance to tetracycline.
Streptococcus pneumoniae is one of the primary causes of community-acquired pneumonia. The vaccine serotypes were dominant and could be isolated in 14% of adult patients, with serotype 3 being the most predominant (25%), followed by 6A, 6B, and 7F.
