A new pleosporalean fungus isolated from superficial to deep human clinical specimens

Summary: Human infections by pleosporalean fungi are rarely reported due to the challenges in their morphological identification. This study identified a new fungal genus, Gambiomyces, using molecular markers after phenotypic characterization failed. The isolates were sterile, leading to difficulty in morphological description, highlighting the importance of molecular identification in clinical Dothideomycetes.
