Associations between air pollution and cardio-respiratory physiological measures in older adults exercising outdoors

David M. Stieb et al.

Summary: The study examined the effects of exercising indoors vs. outdoors on reducing the cardio-respiratory impact of outdoor air pollution in older adults. Results indicated short-term effects of air pollution, but the hypothesized benefit of indoor exercise could not be demonstrated due to insufficient intervention days.
