The fracture mechanism of sintered Nd-Fe-B magnet was analyzed from the perspective of crystallology. The fracture is observed at the interface between the Nd2Fe14B main phase (MP) and the thin Nd-rich grain boundary phase (TGBP). The determined angle mismatch and lattice mismatch between the MP and TGBP phase indicate an incoherent interface boundary, weakening the binding force between the MP and TGBP.
