This paper experimentally verifies the influence of metal wire positioned in different locations within a high-order laser cavity on the evolution of high-order modes. Through modulating the metal wire, different high-order modes were achieved, offering a new application for fields such as optical communication.
This paper experimentally verifies various high-order mode evolution when a metal wire is placed in different positions of the beam in a high-order laser cavity. We have placed a metal wire (fixed on the lifting platform) on the beam in the customized high-order mode laser cavity, which can interfere with the beam and diffract, and collect the spot patterns with CMOS camera. We modulate high-order modes through the two factors of the wire modulation in the cavity because of the cavity mirror changing the gain medium. We get a variety of high-order modes and our modulation process is simple and operation easily. Different high-order modes contain different information capacities. They can be used in optical communication and other fields.
