In the present era, where pollution levels are alarmingly high and mankind is facing newer and newer diseases due to high levels of pollution, suspended particulate matter (SPM) leads to many respiratory diseases. In this work, the effectiveness of Sphagnum cymbifolium on indoor SPM concentration levels was studied under different conditions - namely, dark, sunlight and smoky conditions. S. cymbifolium was found effective in reducing the concentration of SPM in the environment, particularly indoors and in indoor smoky environments. Some further research areas are also proposed.
