Patient responses to physician disclosures of industry conflicts of interest: A randomized field experiment

Susannah L. Rose et al.

Summary: The study showed that disclosing physicians' financial conflicts of interest can improve patients' awareness of these relationships but does not significantly affect patients' trust in their physician or hospital, nor does it impact appointment attendance rates. Additionally, framing these financial relationships in terms of risks and benefits did not result in any significant outcomes.
