The technology of heat transfer enhancement assisted by ultrasonic has attracted great attention in recent years. In this work, the enhanced mechanism of heat transfer associated with ultrasonic vibration was analyzed and numerically simulated. Firstly, the sinusoidal transmission ways of ultrasound was introduced. A theory of condensation chain reaction was proposed to reveal the enhanced mechanism of heat transfer with ultrasonic. Then, the results calculated by LAMMPS were presented to verify the ultrasonic cavitation process. Finally, two examples of cross pipes and double-pipe heat exchangers were introduced to exhibit the enhanced effect of ultrasonic. The results indicated that the enhancement effect could be attributed to three factors, which are all brought about in condensation chain reaction process.
