Polyoxometalates (POMs) are interesting clusters that attracted great attention due to their remarkable structures and intriguing applications. The incorporation of POMs into crystalline architectures generates functional hybrid materials because such materials combine the merits of POMs and architectures together, thus deriving special properties. In particular, the unique combination of POMs with currently popular architectures, viz. Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs), Covalent-Organic Frameworks (COFs) and metallosupramolecules, received great development. In this review, the synthetic strategies, classification and functional properties of POM-based architectures are summarized. Moreover, the current challenges in the design, synthesis and property investigation of POM-based architectures are also discussed. (C) 2020 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
