Public awareness of coronavirus in Al-Jouf region, Saudi Arabia

Hanaa Zakaria Nooh et al.

Summary: The research found that the majority of the population in Al-Jouf region has a moderate level of knowledge about MERS-CoV, with age, education, and occupation being significant predictors of low awareness. Public awareness about the nature, communicability, and lethality of the disease is overall good, but more attention is needed on the incubation period, clinical presentation, and epidemiology of the disease. The Ministry of Health was identified as the main source of information, and there is a need for empowering public information about the disease to control outbreaks effectively.
