Pancreatic cancer is a low vascular permeable tumor with a high mortality rate. Drug delivery field is developing unique carriers for high mortality rate cancers like pancreatic cancer, such as theranostic nanoparticles which carry both diagnostic and therapeutic agents. This review discusses various therapeutic and theranostic nanocarriers for pancreatic cancer.
Pancreatic cancer is one of the low vascular permeable tumors with a high mortality rate. The five-year survival period is similar to 5%. The field of drug delivery is at its pace in developing unique drug delivery carriers to treat high mortality rate cancers such as pancreatic cancer. Theranostic nanoparticles are the new novel delivery carriers where the carrier is loaded with both diagnostic and therapeutic agents. The present review discusses various therapeutic and theranostic nanocanicrs for pancreatic cancer.
