The presence of the little-known flea Caenopsylla laptevi laptevi Mikulin & Zagniborodova, 1958 is reported for the first time in Turkey. All known hosts and distribution reports of C. laptevi laptevi are outlined and the significance of the new record is discussed. Also, re-descriptions of male and female of C. laptevi laptevi based on Turkish specimens are given. All specimens (three males and two females) of C. laptevi laptevi were collected from a European brown hare, Lepus europaeus Pallas, 1778, which represents a new host record.
